Delegation from Haldor Topsøe visited DICP

A delegation of two members from Haldor Topsøe, Danmark, Dr. Jesper Nerlov, Chief Technology Officer and Dr. Fei Chen, Vice President for New Business R&D, visited Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics (DICP) on 19th Jun.,2014. Deputy director Prof. Xueming Yang and DNL director Prof. Can Li met with visitors. Related staff from Science & Technology Department and DNL Office attended meeting activities.

In the exchange meeting, Prof. Xueming Yang introduced the present industrial cooperation of DICP firstly and mainly introduced the cooperative progress and mode with BP and Sabic. Prof. Can Li expressed the gratitude for the Topsoe generous scholarship supports to DNL Ph.D. students and the present collaborative research project between two parties. Dr. Jesper Nerlov briefly introduced Topsoe’s research achievement and progress on oil refining, chemical engineering and new energy. And expect to focus on the development of energy, petrochemical catalysis, environmental catalysis, catalyst characterization and photocatalysis material in the future. Dr. Jesper Nerlov wished to establish R&D Lab in order to keep the long-term cooperation and expand it gradually. Finally, the both sides achieved the initially agreement on the cooperative progress and the cooperative mode.

The Topsøe guests were invited to visit the related DNL divisions and SKLC research groups during the visiting.

Topsøe is “The Catalyst and Technology Company”. Topsøe has supplied the full range of catalysts required for production of ammonia, hydrogen, synthesis gas, methanol, formaldehyde, and sulphuric acid. Topsøe is one of the major catalyst manufacturers serving these industries worldwide. For the petroleum refining industry, Topsøe provides technology and a portfolio of catalysts for hydrocracking and hydroprocessing, contributing to the production of cleaner fuels meeting future environmental standards. Flue gas cleaning by removal of sulphur dioxide, nitrogen oxides, and other environmentally harmful compounds has for long been a key area for Topsøe, for applications ranging from heavy vehicles to large coal-fired power plants.
